Maxillofacial Surgery

Maxillofacial reconstructive surgery involves the reconstruction of the entire facial region, including the underlying bony components such the jaw and facial bones. While it is usually done to improve functionality, it can also be done to improve self-esteem and quality of life by giving the person a more "normal" appearance. Oral and maxillofacial reconstructive surgery is recognized as a surgical specialty around the world, and specialists in the field have completed considerable education and training.
